Most of you know that I have a mad crush on M.T. Anderson. (You can see my squeetus exclusive interview with him here.) You understand. I'm not in love with him per se. I am an ecstatically happily married woman. And so is he. Only not the woman part. But how can I not help crushing? He's not my only crush, of course. The list is awfully long. (Holly Black, when will you admit we're best friends?!) But he comes up today because:
1. I'm about to read The Game of Sunken Places for the first time. The sequel is out, The Suburb Beyond the Stars, and has this awesome promo vid, if you haven't seen it.
2. We just had this email exchange. I share, with Tobin's permission.
Me:
Man those spam robots are clever! I just found this comment on one of my blog posts that mentions you, written by "Generic Viagra" with a link to an online pharmacy: "M.T Anderson is such a great guy, the most important thing is that he is a smart guy. Maybe he can share with us some other interesting ideas."
Well, sir, can you? Don't betray the high opinion Generic Viagra has placed in you.
MTA:
I should mention that Generic Viagra is my stepmom. She's really nice about promoting my work. We used to call her Genny. For some reason, she was touchy about us using her full name.

Brilliant.

I should definitely check out those books! (As soon as I'm done with yours, Shannon, and Wendy Mass' books.)
I watched the promo video, and the ending scared me so much, I jumped about five feet in the air, right before my mom asked what that screech was.
Trouble.

He's so silly. I love that about him - quick on the draw, and completely insane. We got to interview him on our blog and he was so much fun.
Okay. I sound like I'm crushing, too... hard.
::sigh::

Perfect! I don't know who MTA is, but I guess maybe I should find out since he obviously has a great sense of humor!

Bahaha! I've never read any of his books. Now I must. For sure. :) I just caught up your posts from the last month and I'm so, so happy to hear you gush about your twins and that you want to take the time to be mommy right now. I love that.

I just saw your recent tweet, so I'm commenting to tell you how much I LOVED this (and how much I loved revisiting your old interview)! Thank you for sharing the exchange.

.... is it terrible that I actually believed that until the Genny part? Hilarious.

Haha, love it.

I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information here was worth the wait.

We're particular fans of his Delaware adventures at our house. (If we ever make it to Delaware, some of us are going to be seriously disappointed when it doesn't live up to expectations created by Mr. Anderson!)

LOL
So many things I could say about this!!!

Hahahaha. I don't know why it surprises me when two writers are so cute and clever in their exchanges with one another. I laugh in awe. :)
